Essential Winter Maintenance

Following the recent rain and wind, there has been a sudden fall of leaves.

May we suggest that if you see a build up of surface water can you please:

  • Check the nearby drains and free them of any leaf blockages
  • Advise the Parish Council of any slow draining patches by either email: admin@hisimp.net or phone the office: 01223 235906. We have already been advised of: Junior School approach road, Kay Hitch Way, Station Road

Take extra care making your way around the villages this time of year

Fundraising at Histon Football Club

We have received the following from a Histon FC fan and resident:

I would just like to let you know about the amazing donations made today by the supporters of Histon FC at the match against Fleet Town. Despite seeing their team lose by the odd goal in nine, and having four players sent off, the fans still put £48.67 in my collection bucket. I am raising money for World Cancer Research Fund UK, and this was part of my fundraising which will culminate with me running the London Marathon on 23 April 2016.

Perhaps you could share this news with the local community to show what a great local club they have, which is supported by generous and friendly fans.

Trick or Treat – Poster Download

We have just received the following from eCops:

Hello all

Following on from my message earlier in the week, please find our new “No Trick of Treating here”  poster which you can print off and put in your window or on your door should you  not wish to participate in Halloween activities.

For those of you  who will be enjoying Halloween:-

please Remember…

Stay with an adult at all times while trick or treating
Visit neighbours and people that you know
Look out for pumpkins – houses that welcome trick or treaters usually have pumpkins on display
Some people do not enjoy being scared by spooky costumes. If you see a “no trick or treat” sign respect it and move on to the next house.
Most importantly… stay safe and have fun!

If you feel that you are a victim of crime or anti- social behaviour during this event then please contact the police on 101.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary wishes you all an enjoyable evening and weekend.
