Works to repair weed growth damage to the footpath rear of Manor Park will take place from 17th – 19th February between 0730 and 1830. The work will take place under a footpath closure with a diversion route in place via Home Close. The section of footpath closed will start at Home Close continuing the entire length of path adjacent to Manor Field.

If you have any issues during the works, please email clerk@hisimp.net

Storm Dennis

Storm Dennis will bring strong winds over the weekend, please be aware of possible dangers walking beside wooded areas when its windy. There maybe a risk of falling dead wood and in extreme cases trees either fracturing or becoming uprooted.

There are a number of trees near cycle paths and highways so please also be extra cautious when driving or cycling around the villages this weekend.

Desilting of the Brook

We have requested South Cambridgeshire District Council to action some desilting work at the Brook now that the vegetation has been cut back. This will happen at short notice, when the weather is suitable for the workmen to bring machinery over the Green, please be aware that debris will be put onto the banks as a result of the work.

We are hopeful these works will take place within the next few weeks subject to the weather.

Greater Cambridge Local Plan Issues and Options – Upcoming Consultation in January 2020

We have received the following consultation details from Greater Cambridge Shared Planning:

It is a very exciting time for Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council, with work underway on a new joint Local Plan that will affect the future of Greater Cambridge over the next 20 years.

The Councils are preparing to carry out a public consultation called: Greater Cambridge Local Plan – The First Conversation.  The consultation will start the conversation about the kind of place we want Greater Cambridge to be in the future. It will explore the ‘big themes’ –climate change, biodiversity, social inclusion and great places – that will influence how homes, jobs and infrastructure are planned, and where growth might go.

Our consultation will run between 9am Monday 13 January and 5pm Monday 24 February 2020.

We want to hear as many views as possible about what the Councils should include in the next Local Plan.

During the consultation we will be taking a pop-up ‘roadshow’ to places around the area including shopping centres, schools, community centres and other places where we can reach out to as many people as possible, making it easy for you to spend a few minutes finding out more and sharing your views. Our current list of events is attached here, you will also be able to find out more when we launch our dedicated Local Plan website in the New Year.

We will also be holding a ‘Big Debate’ on the evening of 18 February, where we are inviting local groups to share their ideas about what should be in the Local Plan, in a fun, provocative and lively public event. If you are interested in being one of the groups to present, please contact Hana Loftus at localplan@greatercambridgeplanning.org. Also look out for details about how to book your seat in the audience on the night, when we open the consultation in January.

The consultation will go live on 13 January – you will be able to explore all the material, and share your views, on www.greatercambridgeplanning.org

If you would like further information or have any questions please contact us by emailing localplan@greatercambridgeplanning.org  or calling 01954 713183.

Work on The Crossing Area at The Green

On Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th January, work is taking place on the worn area near the crossing on The Green. An area of worn grass will be dug up and a protective plastic grid will be laid, then the whole area will be recovered with new topsoil and re-seeded.

We expect the area to be fenced off for some time, to allow the seeding to take as much as possible.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
