Elaine Farrell was elected as Committee Chair following the stepping down of Cedric Foster from this role

Representatives of HICOP (Histon & Impington Community Orchard) and the H&I Sustainability Group attended the meeting to update on their work
Ruth Moulder of the Sustainability Group reported on
- the success of the wildflower verge planting scheme trial in the villages
- 2 more Repair Cafes planned for 2017
- A Hedgehog gardens project to keep hedgehogs safe
- The successful Food Festival held in conjunction with the HICOP team
Dan Mace from HICOP added updates on:
- their request for signage to the Orchard, which is at the rear of Somerset Road/Manor Park, close to the guided busway
- developing plans for a music/performance area within the orchard
- the team’s wish to see cycle racks sited nearby,
- and a grant application made to the A14 community fund for information boards (http://www.cambridgenetwork.co.uk/news/cash-for-local-projects-as-a14-scheme-gears-up/)
The Committee are next due to meet 6 December when their budget requests for 2017-18 will be finalised
