Thank you to all those who have taken the trouble to obtain photographic evidence at the Duck Feeding Platform on the Green. This has been very useful to our Pest Control company in that despite all the evidence on the site pointing to water voles, it is now clear that “Rattus Norvegicus” are present.
Our Pest Controller has taken the appropriate action and will be monitoring the area weekly until satisfied there is no evidence of rat.
He does, however, point out that it is important that bread is not used to feed the ducks. It has no nutritional value for ducks, and only serves to attract rats.
Thank you. As a matter of interest, will the pest controller be able to deal with the rats without harm to the voles?
The Council has been told that the answer is “yes”.
The bait being used is not attractive to voles, but is to rats.
