We have recently received an up date on the activities of Choir 2000. They say:

Do you know that Histon hosts one of the best amateur choirs in the region?

Choir 2000, now in its 16^th year has a membership approaching 150. It regularly performs great choral works with orchestra under its Musical Director Peter Britton at the beautifully refurbished Baptist Church in Histon, as well as, once a year, at West Road Concert Hall in Cambridge.

Our annual Choral Days are open to non-members and attract singers from all around the county and beyond.

The basic principle on which Choir 2000 was founded remains the same. Registered as an educational and cultural Charity, we offer an opportunity to study and perform great choral music to anyone who would like to join (without auditions). We have, however, had to cap choir membership at 150 for reasons of space, and the demands of health and safety.

Each season, which runs from October to June, we accept applications for membership until we reach our maximum number for the year.

Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 7.30pm to 9.45pm at the Histon Baptist Church.
