Histon FC is pleased to announce that agreement has been reached with South Cambridgeshire District Council and Histon and Impington Parish Council on arrangements to replace the trees that were felled in error alongside the guided bus way.
390 silver birch, cherry, and lime saplings will be planted in the affected area shortly. The price of the saplings is £600 and costs will also be incurred in ground preparation and ongoing weed maintenance. Histon fans and members of the local community are invited to help fund these arrangements by sponsoring a tree for Histon FC.
Sponsorship of each tree will cost £2.00. There is no limit on the number of trees you can sponsor, subject to sums donated not exceeding the costs involved. The names of all sponsors will be listed on a scroll which will initially be displayed in the Club bar.
It is intended to plant the saplings this Thursday, 4 December, from 9.00am and volunteers to assist in planting will be very welcome.
Anyone who would like to sponsor a tree for Histon FC or would like to volunteer to help plant the trees on Thursday morning is asked to contact Howard Wilkins (Club Secretary) 01223 237373 or email secretary@histonfc.co.uk.
