Annual General Meeting of Histon & Impington Parish Council

Histon & Impington Parish Council held its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 4th May, draft minutes from the meeting can be read here.

Noting the change of legislation to remote meetings for Local Government,  no formal meetings of Council will be held on Zoom. Delegations have been approved for Officers working with Committee Chairs to ensure approved projects can continue. Committees will meet in an informal workshop format on Zoom until it is safe to meet in person. The next meeting of Full Council is scheduled 21st June which will be held in person and will review the delegations and establish a safe way of meeting. The venue for this meeting is yet to be confirmed.

Items of note:

  • Re-election of Chair, Denis Payne and Vice Chair, Yvonne Murray – congratulations!
  • Welcome back to Cedric Foster – co-opted  during the meeting. Cedric joined the Highways and Employment Committees and continues his role as Highways Liaison Officer
  • Agreement to a 12 month extension for the footpath in the Play Area linking to the Junior School. A review of usage and the impact to the Play Area and the Village Green will be undertaken during the next 12 months.   • Council expressed continued support to ensure acquisition of Long Meadow and Croft Close open space
  • Last meeting with County Councillor David Jenkins who is not standing for re-election. Members thanked David for his support and work in the villages over the last 16 years
