Histon & Impington Community Appraisal Project - HICAP
What's it all about? Our villages have changed enormously in the last 100 years and will continue to change this century. But change can be bumpy, many of us are resistant, especially to imposed change. Care needs to be taken to listen and learn from one another. The HICAP (Histon & Impington Community Action Project) team is endeavouring to do this and with your help we can begin to develop action plans to help our community grow and move forward into the 21st century with vision and enthusiasm. Community Appraisal or Project Plan The early projects of this nature were termed Community Appraisals, but the concept of a Parish Plan was introduced as part of the Government's Rural White Paper - and specific funding made available for this work. The aims and objectives are the same - a plan, based on evidence, for the way forward for the community. Documents: There are a range of documents available. They are all in native MS Word (97), and may not be small (sizes are given): The questionnaire 452Kb - as originally distributed in its green cover in early summer 2001 The summary results 426Kb - made available through the Library in April/May 2002; and used as the basis for an article in the Histon & Impington Crier The full results 245Kb - available at the planning meeting on May 18th - includes tables and graphs for all questions, plus further analysis where available The Action Plan (to date) 35Kb - as drafted as a result of the meeting on May 18th If you have any comments on the Action Plan, believe that something is missing, or would like to get involved, please contact us (contacts below). The team: Histon & Impington: Andrea Clark, Angela Young, Anne Muncey, Brenda Soar, Chris Cox, Chris Dorling, Chris Thompson, Denis Payne, Elizabeth Fraser, Fuff Munnelly, Hugh McCurdy, Huw Jones, Lynda Marsh, Martin Croxon, Mick Young, Neil Davies, Steve Carrington, Tony Hough Cambridgeshire ACRE: Deborah Willis Contact us: Denis Payne 233577, Chris Cox 233728 or Neil Davies 232514 Support:
Further documents: These documents may be of some use to other groups planning or running their own Parish Plans. ACRE Presentation 50Kb - a presentation (Powerpoint) given to an ACRE Parish Plans evening by Denis Payne, June 2002 Sampling Factor Correction 21Kb - an Excel spreadsheet, courtesy of the County Council Research Group, that can be used to calculate the likely maximum error in a response given that the sample (ie the number of people responding) is less than the whole. Note for the HICAP results this shows that the maximum likely error is small, and certainly is not significant (ie it cannot possibly change the meaning of a response).
