The gates are open! Homefield Park this afternoon

The sun shone, the crowds turned up and the Boot provided plenty to eat and drink. It was a great afternoon and Caroline Chivers graciously cut the ribbon to make the Homefield Park gates officially ‘open’.

Lots of work went into the event. Alison Turnbull did most of the orchestration and Pene Nudds and the Enviro Volunteers made sure that everything was right on the day. We had food from the Boot and the Guides and people also brought picnics. And we had music from the Junior School and from the IVC band Priority. There was even a photographer from the Cambridge News!

It was good to see such a good turnout. People said they’d never seen so many people in the park and one suspects that there were many there who’d never been there before. It ws a great afternoon.
