Santa’s Grotto 2014

If you were down by The Copse last Saturday evening you would’ve enjoyed a magical Christmas Event. Clear skies, frost and moonlight added to the atmosphere when the crowd counted down for the BIG switch on of tree and woodland lights. This beautiful display signalled Santa’s arrival. Children queued to visit him in his Grotto whilst carols were sung and festive stories were told. There was plenty to see and do with a variety of hot food and drink available, fires to huddle around or the Glow Trail and Igloo to explore.

This was all only possible due to Santa himself and the immense efforts of the enviro.volunteers (with financial support from The Feast), Edd Stonham for music & PA and Pulsar Light of Cambridge Ltd for colour changing lights. Local businesses also contributed to the evening by providing a variety of hot food and drinks at The Railway Vue and Station Stores. Many thanks also to H&I Junior School Choir, Village Churches carol singers, Histon Girl Guides, the Beavers, Malcolm Busby Storyteller, Dickensian Guests, Eat The Rainbow, G&H Scaffolders, Lighthouse Toys, CCC for electricity and H&I Parish Council.
