Where is the war memorial please. I thought it was the one on the B1049 but I’ve been told that’s actually a Peace memorial so I am a little unsure where the war memorial is.
Yes, it is the one on the B1049 – with all the hopes of the generation immediately after WW I it was originally called a peace memorial, but that changed with time and by the end of the 1920s it was known as the war memorial and that is how it is known today.
Perhaps it’s time to revert back to its original name of Peace Memorial.
