Parish Council decides to acquire Bypass Farm lease

The Parish Council decided to acquire a 30 year lease on Bypass Farm at its Feb 14 meeting. This 12 acre plot to the north of the village will help the Parish Council to address the shortage of open space across the two villages. In addition to the shortage as measured against South Cambs standards recent comments at the Neighbourhood Plan meeting earlier in the month and the results of the youth activities survey have both indicated the need for additional and different recreation space.

The Parish Council will now initiate a consultation to determine how best to develop Bypass Farm for the use of the community. Nothing has been decided yet and all options will be considered.

A copy of the presentation given at the Council meeting is given below.

  1. Not houses, we don’t need any more houses! Something like clay pigeon shooting to get youngsters into the sport or a base for a young farmers club or wildlife education centre, lake to encourage wading birds, nature reserve.

  2. Far to dangerous for a play area for children on an allegedly 30 MPH road.
I suggest all in favour will think long and hard about the dangers on this main trunk road. A very concerned grandparent
