New public art: make an input!

H&I Parish Council has received funds resulting from the NAIB Farm (Villa Road) development that must be spent on providing Public Art. The Council has decided to use the money at Homefield Park, to create art that will both draw attention to the Park and welcome people to it.

The Council has commissioned artist Tim Ward to work with local people to create a prominent gateway feature at the main entrance to the Park on the B1049. The finished piece of work will be functional, in creating a new gate & signage, and celebratory, in reflecting the Park and its history.

A key aim of the project is to engage local people & groups in the project to provide inspiration and a resource for the artist. As well as the public workshop the artist will be working with pupils from the local schools and meeting with community groups.

H&I Parish Council invites local people & groups to meet the artist and share their ideas at a Public Workshop to be held in the Park on Saturday 14th December 2013 between 11am and 3pm.

We will be exhibiting in a gazebo just inside the park, and refreshments are being planned.
