With Cambridgeshire County Council now accepting 2017/18 Local Highways Improvement (LHI) Initiative applications, the Parish Council Highways Committee are looking for ideas from the community.
Examples of recent LHI’s in our village include:
- Improvements to kerbing and splay at The Green
- Marked bus stop Winders Lane
- Build out of kerb to provide extra pavement width and safe crossing point at Home Close junction
- Improvements to layout of bus stop on High Street (not yet completed)
- Improvements to Baptist Church junction, Station Road (plans being finalised)

Please do something about the bollard outside the Firs Surgery in Station Road. This is constantly being knocked over because it is not visible enough to drivers. One of these days it will cause a serious accident. Without it (in the periods it has been knocked down), we have witnessed lots of cars blowing out their tyres on the kerb. Would be good if there was some sort of review for this, and something more visible put in place.
