Good news for older houses

South Cambs’ SPEP, the Sustainable Parish Energy Partnership of which Histon & Impington Parish Council is a member, has been successful, in partnership with other Cambridgeshire councils, in securing £5.67 million funding from the Department for Energy and Climate Change for solid wall insulation.  That’s good news because it means that South Cambs will be in a position to give significant help with the costs of installing both external and internal wall insulation for privately owned homes in Cambridgeshire. And that includes properties which are being rented out as well.

Houses built between the wars are particularly suitable for this work and the Parish Council would like to hear from people who live in such houses. There’s a SPEP workshop 23 Apr 13 and we’d like to have a good idea about the potential the scheme in Histon & Impington to present.

If you live in a house which was built in the 20s or 30s, or in fact at any time as long as it has solid walls, please get in touch with the clerk@hisimp.net.
