Brief bio

Claire has lived in Histon with her husband Alan since 1998, as a family Claire has enjoyed the various activities and services provided by the village and feel a great sense of community here.

She has enjoyed a 30 year career in the NHS, becoming a Senior Human Resources Manager, and is now retired.

Within the village she has been on the IVC local governing body since 2011, first as a parent governor, and subsequently as a Trust Governor. She has undertaken various roles including governor responsible for child protection, safeguarding and SEND and is currently link governor responsible for staffing, equality and health & Safety.

Previously she was a Governor at the Early Years Centre and the Junior School.

Her daughter attended the local choir Tensing, which Claire was a management committee member for 4 years.

For recreation she enjoys baking and works half a day a week making cakes for a pub in Dry Drayton . She enjoys painting watercolours and is a member of a local art group.

During the Coronavirus, Claire volunteered for the small role of street co-ordinator, which she enjoyed and now would like to make more of a contribution to the community.
