Christmas Tree Chipping – Saturday 9th January

We have received the following from the enviro.volunteers:

There will be a free chipping service in the village this Saturday (9th January). Local tree surgeon Matt (Tates) and the enviro.volunteers will be on hand to chip any redundant (real) Christmas trees which haven’t made the tip or the green bin.

Please bring your tree along to either The Green (between the pump and the bin) or The Crescent/Villa Road (on the island) before 2pm on Saturday.

The chippings will then be used on one of the woodland paths.

There will also be an enviro.volunteer working party on Saturday in the morning at The Dole (off B1049) 9.30 until 11.30am. We’ll be spreading chippings on the muddy paths and trimming the hedge if numbers and time allow.  As usual tools and refreshments will be provided, so if you want a little exercise to work off some of the festive excesses please come along!

Everyone is welcome for any length of time and no experience is required, but sturdy shoes are recommended!
