We have received the following details of programmed night work from the A14 Integrated Delivery Team:
There will be two separate gangs employed
Gang no 1 – Earth works operation (This operation is linear operation and will move progressively from start to end point. Central Reserve Milton main line to Histon Junction
Phase 1a: to 9th June 2018
Location: Milton Junction to Kings Hedges under bridge
Phase 1b: 11th June to 12th June
Location: Kings hedges to Guided busway
Phase 1c: 13th June to 19th June
Location: Guided busway to Histon junction
All above operations consist of
- Excavation of material from central reserve which is deposited at a stock pile
- Back fill central reserve with capping material and then compacted.
- Back fill central reserve with sub-base material and compact prior to surfacing material being placed.

1 x Excavator in the stockpile area at Kings Hedges

- Switching off Engine whilst plant not in use
- Avoid dropping excavated material from height

Gang no 2
Central Reserve Histon to Girton
Saw cutting and Earthwork Linear Operation moving west from Histon to Girton
Where possible to mitigate the noise generated by the floor saws. Temporary moveable acoustic barrier will be put in place to combat the noise generated by the floor saw during the cutting operation.
Phase 2a: 31stMay
Saw cutting existing edge of carriageway to central reserve
Phase 2b: 4th June to 4th July
Earth work operation
- Excavation of material from Central reserve which is deposited at a stock pile
- Back fill central reserve with capping material and then compacted.
- Back fill central reserve with sub-base material and compact prior to surfacing material being placed.
Saw cutting equipment
4 no floor saws
4 no Vans
Water tankers which are fitted in the back of Transit Box vans.

DLOA Operations (Repairs to existing surfacing)
This is where we are repairing the existing carriage way by removing the defective section and replacing it with good material.
This operation is located throughout the section from Milton to Histon.
Current planned work is w/c 4th June on westbound on slip at junction 32.
Other works will be dependent any necessary repairs and will be advised if and when required.
