Junction tables

Description

Junction tables are large flat top humps over an entire road junction. They reduce the speed of vehicles from all approaches.

Benefits

• Reduce vehicle speeds at junctions
• Highlight junctions to motorists
• Provide level crossing points for pedestrians
• The length can be increased to reduce the impact on long wheel base vehicles, such as buses.

Disadvantages

• Pedestrians may take less care when crossing tables
• May cause problems for buses
• Drivers are more likely to encroach onto the footway
