Junction tables
Description
Junction tables are large flat top humps over an entire road junction. They reduce the speed of vehicles from all approaches.
Benefits
- Reduce vehicle speeds at junctions
- Highlight junctions to motorists
- Provide level crossing points for pedestrians
- The length can be increased to reduce the impact on long wheel base vehicles, such as buses.
Disadvantages
- Pedestrians may take less care when crossing tables
- May cause problems for buses
- Drivers are more likely to encroach onto the footway
