THE ELY DIOCESAN ASSOCIATION OF CHURCH BELL RINGERS
RING IN 2000
Don't hang around getting bored! Ring in 2000 with us.
The Ely Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers hope to celebrate
the Millennium by ensuring that each church in the Diocese has its own band of
ringers so that all the bells can be rung as part of a special service on January
1st 2000 and will continue to be rung for all services thereafter.
We need new ringers, so if you would like to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime
celebration, contact your tower captain or incumbent. It doesn't take long to
learn to ring; the basic skills can be mastered in a few weeks and ringers can
be any age from 7 to 70. No special skills are needed, only the commitment to
ring for services. As well as providing a service for the church and being part
of a team, ringers enjoy a good social life after practise nights and are continually
learning something new.
Why don't YOU give it a try?
There won't be another chance to ring in a new Millennium.
St Andrew's Church, Histon, will be pleased to welcome you to their
tower. You may come along to a practice night every Tuesday, except Easter Week,
from 7.15 to 9pm or contact the following people for information:
