I have great pleasure in sending this second issue of the Millennium Newsletter on its way to you. There were a few teething troubles with the first issue and I am aware that some of you did not receive your copy. I hope this has now been sorted out. The two villages cover a large area (have you too been caught out when asked directions?) and the population falls into various groups that rarely have an opportunity to meet and mix. The annual Feast is one such opportunity, but it would be great if we could re-create some of the sense of 'belonging' that must have existed in days gone by. The Millennium Newsletter is a step in that direction. Please send me your thoughts on the future of the villages, your poetry or prose, your paintings or photographs of special events or places. Organise and / or star in a play, or even write one; put on musical entertainments, a pantomime, sport events etc. Give your imagination free reign. The Histon & Impington Millennium Committee 'Community 2000' is here to provide a platform. But you - the residents and people who work or study in Histon and Impington - must be the principals in this show. I look forward to hearing from you.
