The following speed limit orders have been sealed, and will come into operation on 6th August:

• national speed limit reduced to 40mph, A14 roundabout to Histon Football Club entrance
• 40mph reduced to 30mph, Histon Football Club entrance to just beyond The Green

Just beyond The Green to the Cottenham edge of the village will remain as a 40mph for now.

The new 50mph speed limit between Histon and Cottenham will be implemented later this year, as some further legal tasks are required before sealing the speed limit order.

On 10/09/10 at 9:02am Christopher Jones wrote: I was overjoyed to see the new speed limit through the villages but equally dismayed to see that it reverts to the old 40mph just north of The Green. Why? It is just as much of a residential area, children walk to school along the road and there is a dangerous junction with Orchard Road (I should know, I live opposite and regularly hear the squealing tyres). I am so disappointed that an opportunity to increase road safety has been missed for no apparent reason.
