Crime

Written 11/07/10

There's a spate of bicycle thefts being reported at the moment - the Police are issuing this good advice:

  • Use a good quality lock (the best your budget will allow) and remember to use it

  • Lock your cycle to something (a lamp post, metal post, gate etc) rather than just itself

  • Make sure the lock goes through a wheel and the frame as well

  • Register your cycle (and anything else valuable) - this can be done free at Immobilise

  • Keep a description of your pedal cycle at home (include make, colour, frame number and an distinguishing marks etc)

  • If you see anyone acting strangely or loading pedal cycles into a van/lorry etc (make, model, registration number and colour will help us greatly) ring police on 999

If you have any information as to anyone whom you think may be responsible, please ring police on 0345 456 456 4.

The next Neighbourhood Panel meeting is on Tuesday, July 13th at 7pm at Cottenham Village College.
