Paint damage near War Memorial

Written 01/03/10

The following post from PCSO Chris Blewitt says it all: This morning, PCSO King and I came across a very disappointing sight on the green area near the War Memorial. The new bench, which has only been there for some 2 months, has been painted in yellow paint with the word 'Crack' and a monkey face.

Yellow paint damage at War Memorial

I don't know who has done this - I am tempted to say that it can't possibly be anyone from the village, but you can never say that.

I have spoken to the parish clerk who is as disappointed as I am, to say the least.

If you know who has done this then please contact myself or the parish clerk as I am sure that we would both like to speak to the person or persons responsible to find out why they think this is such a good thing to do.

If you are thinking that it's just a bit of paint, yes it is. It will however cost money to remove and that cost with eventually find its way into the Parish's Council Tax so everyone living in the village will pay for it.
