The CEN reported last night that Bishops (now trading as True Value) is to close with the loss of 8 jobs.

Managing director Matthew James told the CEN: "Unfortunately this is a sad day. However, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff, customers and suppliers for their fantastic support over our 75-year history.

"We will be closing our doors for the last time on December 31."

Mr James added the shop had launched a clearance sale until the end of this month.

"Our aim is to clear all the stock before we decide what is best for the future of the site itself," he said.
