Tankers

Written 14/10/08

Totally unrelated to the Histon "pong" there's been a break in the pipe taking sewage from the village to the treatment works at Milton.

The break's at the Copse, at the bottom of the embankment (and seemingly two breaks - one on each side). It's going to take time to fix - though Anglia Water are onto it. Because of the awkward location, it could take until the end of the week.

Meanwhile, a fleet of more than ten tankers are pumping out chambers at Home Close, and Premier Foods, to ensure that there is no overflow, and that the emergency overflow into the Brook doesn't happen.

Update on 15 October

There's been a lot of discussion on HisImp-Chat about this and it looks as though the breaks have now been fixed - though there is finishing work still to be done.
