It's worth noting that when they have a spokesman from the Post Office on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire he was discounting petitions. He said that if you didn't want your post office to close you should write to them and explain what impact the closure would have on you - that's what will carry the weight ... or so he claimed.

The petition is only part of the package that we intend to put forward. More than 50% of the trade at Impington is business related, and we're planning to involve those businesses and the experts at County Council in making the case against closure.

The proposal leaflet makes the absurd statement that it is practical to travel to the Histon Post Office using the 'frequent bus service' - after having to walk nearly half the distance between the offices to get to and from the bus stops. It also asserts that there is parking availble at Histon - not very often there isn't! It ignores the future needs and opportunities that will arise from the Guided bus being adjacent to the Impington Post Office, and the Environmental and traffic impact of moving all the customers to alternative Post Offices. Every user should raise these points by emailing to - I have.
